The specificity of the Chemistry Master’s Degree of the XL-Chem Graduate School of Research allows students to pick the scientific courses they wish to take from a portfolio of courses offered in the Chemistry Master’s Degrees of the universities of Caen, Le Havre and Rouen. This specificity allows each student to tailor his or her studies according to his or her professional project.
Thus, in our Master’s Degree, students are free to design a path to suit their professional project at a pace of 30 ECTS credits spread across three semesters. Our goal: To train senior staff in organic chemistry
The main goal of the courses of the Organic Chemistry Master’s Degree of the University of Rouen Normandie is the training of senior staff in the field of organic synthesis, bordering the fields of health, materials, perfumes and cosmetics, among many great industries that are well represented in Normandy within Pharmavalley.

Acquisition of a general scientific culture in organic synthesis and analytical chemistry, particularly in the field of the synthesis of natural molecules, molecules of biological and industrial interest and knowledge of modern organic chemistry methods (selective, catalytic and eco-compatible reactions).
Development of initiative, autonomy, intellectual rigor and the efficiency of the work method. This is acquired by carrying out a research project, during which the student becomes familiar with techniques and equipment.
Development of oral and written expression skills, as well as the ability to use general knowledge in written presentations and oral defenses. We place emphasis on these abilities to produce well-rounded students who are ready to enter the professional world.

Organic Chemistry and Interfaces Master’s Degree at the University of Caen Normandie
A unique and complete training in organic chemistry and interfaces
The objective of the Organic Chemistry and Interfaces Master’s Degree at the University of Caen Normandie is to train students with a high level of knowledge in the fields of synthesis of organic and organometallic molecules, polymers, catalysts, their structural analysis (modern spectroscopies) and the study of their physicochemical properties.
The objectives of green chemistry will be addressed through the use of renewable resources and new technologies for clean and fast syntheses. These basic courses are complemented by English language instruction.
This training also allows students to acquire practical skills during an internship in a public or private laboratory.
